It’s the time of the year again to go crazy all-out on your outfit and not be judged for it. Just make sure you keep enough clothes on!

Halloween is one of the most popular holidays across the globe for a number of reasons: crazy-awesome decorations, piles and piles of candy, and of course, the costumes!

While we absolutely love how innovative people get each year (last year, we saw a couple of Facebook profile pages walking around), we’d like to pay homage to the true-blue Halloween classics.

We’ve rounded up six of our favorite tried-and-tested Halloween looks by talented fashion bloggers, all of which were executed to perfection:

1. The Fairy

Whether you’re a one-year-old or 60-years-old, retiring your wings is unnecessary because the fairy costume is applicable across all ages and genders.

Another thing that’s great about this timeless look is that there can be more than one fairy, so if you have children and no time to whip up costumes for the entire family, just go as a family of fairies. Fell one pair of wings short? Assign a Thumbelina in the group and you’re all set.

2. Wednesday Addams

Ah, the classic Wednesday Addams. Grab any long-sleeved LBD you may have in your closet and pop it over a white long-sleeved collared top, braid your hair and you’re all set.

Dragging an additional tortured animal or doll along is a huge plus, too. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your A-game deadpan facial expression.

3. Morticia Addams

Wherever the baby Addams goes, mommy Morticia follows. This Addams Family member is for those who want to go with a costume that’s a bit dressier and less deadpan (but still pretty dead).

Fish out a black, long-sleeved mermaid dress, iron your hair pin-straight, and put on a drab shade of red lipstick. For that extra icy effect, fold your arms in front of you and pretty much just stare at people the entire night. Perfect.

4. The Corpse Bride

The jilted undead bride who tries to take her revenge is definitely a classic. There are a number of backstories to this one – murdered by a third party or a husband-to-be who is only after her family’s money, an arranged marriage that turns into a suicide case, or a freak accident that abruptly ended a could-be happily-ever-after.

Whatever your backstory is, you’ll still need to look like a zombie in layers and layers of tulle and lace. Just make sure you turn up the notch on the gory makeup, or you might find yourself in a church somewhere (for those spending Halloween in Vegas, consider this a warning).

5. Audrey Hepburn

Just like the fairy, this classic look is for the Halloweeners who are not too keen on being covered in fake blood and slime. In a group of friends, however, having two or more Audrey Hepburns may get awkward really fast so make sure to call shotgun (or you can all dress up as Audrey Hepburn – that would be cool).

All you need is a tight black dress, a tiara, a pair of black elbow-length gloves, and some pearls, and you’re good to go.

6. The Black Swan

This character only came into existence in recent years but it gained immense popularity in the last two Halloweens, establishing what seems like a sturdy staying power for the coming years (there’s nothing quite like a schizophrenic ballerina with OCD to scare the wits out of someone).

To get the Black Swan look, slip into a black dress with a tulle or feather skirt, and put on some ballet tights and a pair of criss-cross strapped flats. The highlight of this look is the eye makeup, so practice hitting that pause button on your DVD player.
