Okay, so we know that sporty styles are THE thing this Spring/Summer season. But out of all the forms of athletics to emulate and epitomize, one singular sport stands out as the main source of inspiration for the current fashion crop.
That sport is none other than scuba diving or, to be more specific, what’s being copied is the wetsuit used for scuba diving. Yes, plenty of other sports use wetsuits too, but we should tell you that what really helped us to come up with today’s list of dresses is using the keyword “scuba” in our search.
For us, the scuba dress that started it all is this particular one Michael Kors sent down his Resort 2012 fashion show runway after spending a long vacation in Australia:
Michael Kors wetsuit dress, $1,795
A very literal interpretation of the scuba suit but thankfully, this is as true-to-the-original as it gets. We don’t think anyone’s too keen on donning hot and sticky neoprene fabric right smack dab in the middle of the warmer seasons.
Featuring paneling, color-blocking, and skintight or body-skimming silhouettes, here are dresses that show the new style of the modernized and fashioned scuba suit. Be ready to dive into spring with these 8 scuba dresses:
