The highly-anticipated “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets” might be a science fiction film, but some of the stars strayed far from their dictated costumes when it came time to stroll the red carpet for the movie’s premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater.
While Cara Delevingne did emulate her lead character in a braless futuristic ensemble, two other cast members strayed far, far from the futuristic route by showing up in similar fluffy pink dresses.
Rihanna in Giambattista Valli
Rihanna, who plays a shape-shifting singer in the movie, went all out in a princess-inspired tulle couture gown from Giambattista Valli. The frilly frock showed off Riri’s sexy shoulders with its off-the-shoulder design, and also boasted a high-low hemline and a long and fluffy train.

Amping up her princess look, Rihanna wore a sexy pair of Manolo Blahnik lace-up heels.

Skai Jackson in Marchesa Notte
We’re not sure if it was intentional, but Skai Jackson also donned a pale pink dress that was incredibly similar to Rihanna’s couture gown. The 15-year-old actress donned a Marchesa Notte pink dress that also had an off-the-shoulder cut and a short frilly skirt. While Skai’s dress didn’t have a train or billowing sleeves, the length, cinched waists and coloring of the dresses were both very similar. It’s likely that Skai didn’t plan copying Rihanna’s style, but we have to admit that the matching outfits are pretty adorable.
