Julien’s Auctions is once again opening its doors for its annual Hollywood Legends auction. The affair, which will be held on June 26 to 27 in Beverly Hills, will be featuring hundreds of interesting pieces from the leading ladies and leading men of Tinseltown. Among the items that will be auctioned off are two iconic dresses of Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe.
Princess Di’s dress from the Harper’s Bazaar November 1997 issue features gorgeous embellishments of golden studs and glass beads. This stunning atelier creation is rumored to be the first-ever Gianni Versace gown created for the beloved princess. The starting price for this famous dress is $30,000.
Another infamous dress that will be part of the auction is Marilyn Monroe’s floral frock from the 1962 movie Something’s Gotta Give. This vintage silk crepe dress features a sexy silhouette with hand-finished details and a plunging back. The bombshell’s untimely death happened just a couple of weeks after she was let go from the production of the film.
There are several more interesting film memorabilia that will be included in the auction, like Michelle Pfeiffer’s Grease 2 jacket, Doris Day’s A Great Day gown, and Barbra Streisand’s ensemble. There are even three memorable Hollywood automobiles that will be part of the bidding. For more information, visit Julien’s Auction.
