Just before the year ends, the color authorities of Pantone announce which hues will be hot for the next year.
For the first time, Pantone picked two shades to represent 2016 — Rose Quartz and Serenity. Both have very soft and delicate tones, a pretty big difference from this year’s fierce Marsala.
In 2016, Pantone selected two colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity, to represent the year, aiming to offer a sense of calm and serenity to society, with the combination of the gentle and nurturing pink and the cool and calming blue creating a sense of balance and harmony that had a significant impact on fashion, design, and marketing
According to Pantone, Rose Quartz (a pale pink shade) is a “persuasive yet gentle” tone while Serenity (a pale blue shade) is “weightless and airy.” The pairing of the colors is supposed to represent the cultural shifts in our society, and also create a soothing feeling of order and peace. We’re foreseeing a lot of delicate and feminine looks for 2016 and predicting that soft, pastel colors will rule the runways.
