For a night honoring the year’s best of British theatre, the London Evening Standard Theatre Awards are always filled with fashionable attendees. This year’s event proved consistent with tradition, as stars strode the red carpet dripping in designer gowns and stunning suits.
Amidst the talent and glamour of the evening, special attention was certainly granted to Salma Hayek in her gorgeous Alexander McQueen gown that opened low and wide across her chest.

A notoriously well-endowed actress, Hayek was a sight to behold in the Alexander McQueen halter dress that struggled to contain her feminine features. She clearly used double-sided tape between her skin and clothing to help her breasts stay in place.

The 49-year-old star was wise to choose a dress by the late and talented British designer, at an event where no one was untouched by his work. McQueen’s intricate details are unmistakable on this floor-trailing gown, with fabric that spirals in textured lace past the feet.

Between the layers of lacy accents, wide strips of pearly velvet add a smooth contrast and elegant shimmer. The most stunning detail is the halter collar that flairs out in ruffles starting high behind the neck.

We admire Hayek’s confidence and respect her ability to flaunt what she’s got, but we’re not so sure how to feel about the full cleavage in this otherwise modest gown.
Despite potentially taking some attention from the gown, however, we’ve got to admit we’re charmed as always by her beauty and poise.
