There’s no denying that the 2016 Golden Globe Awards teemed with style. From opulent, heavily embellished dresses to simple one-hued frocks, the red carpet didn’t fall short on sartorial expectations.

What the TV broadcasts didn’t show are the numerous after parties that the celebrities hopped into right after the awards show. Many of the celebrities did a quick outfit change, with some leaving an even better impression in their after party dresses than their actual Golden Globes attire.

1. Jamie Chung

The 32-year-old attended the HBO Golden Globes after party in a black and white Kaufman Franco Resort 2016 racerback gown. Jamie injected an edgier panache to the attire by styling her hair with a headband and opting for striking blue winged eyeliner.

2. Emilia Clarke

The Game of Thrones star brought modesty and tastefulness to the red carpet in a black caped dress. She kept up with that theme at the HBO after party in her form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana rose print dress.

3. Olivia Palermo

Although not a red carpet novice, this was Olivia Palermo’s first Golden Globes. Everyone raved about her Delpozo gown. She once again showed her styling prowess in this Giambattista Valli Spring 2015 couture dress and Charlotte Olympia sandals tandem at the Weinstein Company and Netflix after party.

4. Lea Michele

The Scream Queens actress sizzled in her Michael Kors Collection illusion backless pebbled crepe gown that showed off ample side boob. The actress wore a pair of Stuart Weitzman silver “Nudist” platform sandals with it.

5. Vanessa Hudgens

The Grease: Live actress took the old Hollywood glam route in this black sheer and velvet number. She accessorized with Oroton Opera clutch and Cesare Paclotti pumps.

6. Victoria Justice

The 22-year-old wore a Bao Tranchi lavish cutout gown with Swarovski “Vio” ring, Swarovski twisty triangle bangle and a black clutch. This gown showed off just the right amount of flesh, in our opinion.

7. Kate Bosworth

We hated to see Kate Bosworth out of the stunning sequined gown she wore to the red carpet. The only thing that consoled us was her after party outfit consisting of a Dolce & Gabbana strapless tunic dress and matching cropped trousers. Totally unexpected but just as replete with adornment.

8. Jennifer Lopez

The American Idol judge surprised everyone with her modest choice of gown for the red carpet event. That Giambattista Valli gown hid a lot of body parts but still managed to make the singer drip with sexiness.

She also kept up with the modesty at the after party in her pristine white Roland Mouret “Favia” gown that she styled with a pair of Charlotte Olympia “Tokyo” sandals and Judith Leiber couture clutch.

So much style in so little time. What did you think of these ensembles? Which celebrity was best-dressed?
