Shopping at Free People can be a little tricky sometimes because the models and the pictures are just too pretty. I appreciate all the effort they put into making their product images truly look like ads in magazines, but it’s hard to imagine how this dress for example would look in real life and on you.

Sigh. So pretty. So unreal! There are also many practical reasons why one shouldn’t wear a see-through mesh dress but whatever, the prettiness still reels me in.

This is the Free People Cascades of Ruffles Slip. True to its name, it features beautiful, floaty and dreamy ruffles layered in an almost random but completely unique way:

I love that they used contrast black piping for the edges and the hemline on this slip dress. It really brings out the layers and reminds me of this Marc Jacobs Spring 2010 dress which I truly, truly love to this date:

Now back to the Free People Cascades of Ruffles Slip. It’s clearly a dress meant for layering, and I would probably go the leather jacket route like how the model is wearing it too. But since it’s spring, this dress would be more season-appropriate layered with other pretty and delicate things, such as a lace tank, lace shorts and beaded strappy sandals.

The layering possibilities are endless!
