Is it just me or do you also think Carey Mulligan looks a little different lately? And I mean good different, like prettier and more stunning different. I think it’s her hair. She went blonder, notice?

The lady was spotted at the Moet British Independent Film Awards held last December 5, and she simply looked beautiful in her red dress. There’s something about the platinum blond and red combination that makes it so attractive to the eyes. It’s the way the two strongly contrast yet complement at the same time. Take a look:

You know, my only complain is that the dress is a tad too long for her. Other than that however, she looks breathtaking! Let’s have a closer look at it, shall we?

Wow, the detailing on the front looks so randomly put, and yet, it’s what truly makes the dress an original piece – half origami, half draped; quite avante-garde yet strangely delicate and beautiful. The dress is from Prabal Gurung, and if you want one, you will need to get it straight from the designer because it isn’t available online. I have to warn you though, Prabal Gurung dresses are expensive. Take a look:

Prabal Gurung Red Carpet Caplet Dress, €1,819 (Sold Out)

Prabal Gurung Red Pleated One Shoulder, €3,319 (Sold Out)

If you can’t afford it, why not just go for a red dress with a detailed bodice? It would be the perfect dress to put on for your holiday soirees. Try these for starters:

Notte by Marchessa Strapless Ruffled Dress, $795

Phoebe Couture Dupioni Rosette Side Dress, $310

Robert Rodriguez Black Label Draped Flower Dress, $495
