While I’m all for embellished outfits and structured form-fitting dresses that show off the curves, I prefer to slip into easy-to-wear pieces that are simple, soft, fluid, effortlessly chic, and do not constrict. If you can relate, then do read on because this post is as much for you as it is for me.

In my quest to look for such frocks, I have narrowed down my list of go-to labels, which I think, should be top of mind if it’s easy, casual, and effortlessly chic dressing you want.

I can’t stress the word “effortless” enough because really, it’s what these dresses do. There are no embellishments involved, no decorations, but they are cut to flatter. And you really won’t need much to look good in them.

1. Heather

Heather is my first choice more because apart from the accessible price range, they offer pieces that can be dressed up or down so you actually get more mileage for your purchase. At the moment, I am crushing on their blouson maxi and hi-lo peep shoulder dresses:

Heather Blouson Maxi, $196 / Heather Hi-Lo Peep Shoulder Dress, $110

2. Wilt

Another line I love is Wilt. They do a lot of high-low hemlines but what makes this label unique, in my opinion, is the touch of grunge and edgy elements they infuse into some of their dresses. Take for example the slim slant midi and open shoulder frocks from Shopbop:

Wilt Slim Slant Midi Tank Dress, $128 / Wilt Open Shoulder Dress, $146

3. Lanston

Third on my list is Lanston. Much like Heather, they have more refined jersey pieces that can be dressed up or down. Their price range is also accessible so you can easily fashion a dress or two from this brand without feeling guilty.

Lanston Asymmetrical Cami Dress, $143 / Lanston Drape Racer Back Maxi Dress, $165 / Lanston Cross Back Mini Shift Dress, $121

4. LnA

Last but not least is LnA. Founded in 2007 by California natives Lauren Alexander and April Leight, the brand has stretched its offering from just basic tees and tanks. Now you can grab dresses and other separates from this label as well. What they have are more classic-looking pieces with a bit of twist here and there.

LnA Waverly Dress, $146 / LnA Cardiff Cutout Dress, $88
