All the attendees of the 2018 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) were encouraged to wear black as a stand against sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the entertainment industry. With the exception of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton), everyone followed the dress code. The following were the best and worst dressed celebrities.
1. Jennifer Lawerence in Christian Dior Haute Couture gown
After not attending the show for the past five years, the 27-year-old actress made a stunning return to the BAFTAs in a black Dior Spring 2018 Couture tuxedo gown featuring contrasting white draped chiffon sleeves embroidered with organza flowers. She completed her ensemble with Charlotte Olympia ‘Joyce’ shoes, a Roger Vivier flap clutch, and emerald stone earrings from Sylva & Cie.

2. Allison Janney in Bibhu Mohapatra gown
The 58-year-old American actress, who was named Best Supporting Actress for ‘I, Tonya’, donned a two-tone floor length dress from Bibhu Mohapatra’s Fall 2018 collection that left the fashion critics divided. She styled her gold long sleeve velvet gown with Messika jewelry and sandals from Stuart Weitzman. What are your thoughts?

3. Gemma Arterton in Alberta Ferretti Couture gown

5. Anya Taylor-Joy in lace Dolce & Gabbana gown
The 21-year-old American-born Argentine-British actress did not leave much to the imagination in a sheer black lace embroidered dress from Dolce & Gabbana‘s Spring 2018 collection that she styled with black platform heels. Perhaps she should consider hiring a new stylist from Trunk Club or Stitch Fix?
