When J-Lo was announced as the host for this year’s American Music Awards, we knew we were in for an unforgettably glamorous evening. Between her knockout opening act, humorous commentary, and nonstop wardrobe changes, this 46-year-old more than proved to us that she still has it.
With a seemingly insatiable taste for making risqué fashion statements, Jennifer Lopez took her opportunity in the spotlight to amplify her reputation in see-through fabric, skintight styles, and racy cutouts. To end the night, this timeless Hollywood beauty emerged in a silky light blue Nicolas Jebran gown that criss-crossed in cutouts across her body, barely stretching over her muscular stomach and infamous curves.

Starting from a moderate V-neckline, this Nicolas Jebran Spring 2012 show stopper erupts in a web of shiny cords that weave down the front off the gown and meet at a center interlacing point above the bellybutton. From this circular design, knotted cords fan out in many directions, pulling tight stripes of fabric over the hips where they gather again in a knot before expanding out in silky triangles over the backside. The fabric of the gown gathers and bunches together to add to the bandaged, skin-tight look, and then cascades in a rush of silk to the floor.

The gown certainly worked overtime to hold J-Lo’s feminine features back, but as always, we think she pulled it off flawlessly. Instead of overdoing it, Lopez chose a slick top knot hairstyle and small diamond shaped studs that did little to detract from the dress.
While her wardrobe choices were on point, the real success story was her seemingly magical ability to pop in and out of them while simultaneously hosting an incredibly entertaining show. As to be expected, the lovely singer and actress blew us away with her talent and style.
