We previously did a feature on collared dresses as worn by several fashionable street-style bloggers. While the collared dress is a favorite for daily wear, it is also commonly worn to red carpet events.

We rounded up 5 of our favorite red carpet looks featuring this much-coveted dress style.

1. Hayley Atwell in Jasper Conran

You need not garb yourself in heavily embellished and sparkly frocks to gain attention at red carpet events. Sometimes, simple silhouettes and clean monochromatic palettes draw attention quite as successfully. An example is Hayley Atwell’s dress for the Moet British Independent Film Awards. The 31-year-old British actress wore a collared Jasper Conran gown. The contrast of the white collar against the black floor-length gown made this look a tad more interesting.

2. Jena Malone in Valentino

Jena Malone, who played Johanna Mason in the latest installment of ‘The Hunger Games’ series, wore a bicolored Valentino dress at the movie’s New York screening. It was a successful look for the actress, from her sophisticated coif down to her Casadei Mohawk gray pumps. The addition of the collar gave this dress a sweet old-school appeal.

3. Emma Stone in Valentino

One of the first to try out the collared dress trend on the red carpet (or, in this case, the gray carpet) was Emma Stone. She was a vision in a pink Valentino dress that she paired with houndstooth-printed Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and a black clutch.

4. Rosamund Pike in Victoria Beckham

It’s not all vintage glamor for collared dresses. There are also modern takes to it. One chic example is Rosamund Pike’s Victoria Beckham dress at the world premiere of ‘The World’s End’. The dress embodies what they say about contrasting elements. The  demure silhouette was made more modern with its see-through details. The actress wore it with a pair of Elie Saab T-strap sandals.

5. Brit Marling in Valentino

Another Valentino collared dress fan here. Brit Marling chose this beautiful embroidered overlay frock from the said fashion house. A dress like this doesn’t even need too much accessorizing. Brit went for a pared-down styling, choosing only a chignon for her hairdo and a pair of printed pumps for her footwear.

We are still seeing the collared dress trend everywhere, so it’s not too late to give it a try. Below are some dresses to add to your wardrobe.
