If you think florals are only for spring and summer, it’s time to think again. While this print/style is quite popular during the warmer months, it doesn’t mean that florals won’t work during fall and winter. We’ve rounded three stylish ladies who know exactly how to rock the darker kind of florals for fall.

Elle Fanning in Marchesa dress

The young and beautiful Elle Fanning has quite a penchant for delicate and sophisticated looks. At the premiere of her movie ‘Lowdown’, Elle wore a dramatic floor-length gown that made her look older. The Marchesa dress features a sexy off-shoulder style, a mermaid silhouette, and floral embroidery. The dress is a little too mature for Elle, but the sophisticated 16-year-old wore it very elegantly.

Keira Knightley in Valentino frock

Keira Knightley showed us another way to wear florals in fall. The British beauty attended a photo call for ‘The Imitation Game’ in a Valentino spring 2015 floral frock that features a detailed collar and electric pleats. We love the vintage vibe of this dress, and the floral print on a deep red background works very well for the season. Keira finished the look with a pair of Charlotte Olympia “Auspicious Debbie” platform pumps.

Reese Witherspoon in Prabal Gurung Gown

When it comes to looking glamorous on the red carpet, Reese Witherspoon is an expert. The lovely actress graced the 28th American Cinematheque Award in a gorgeous Prabal Gurung Resort 2015 satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and an elegant mermaid-style silhouette. The black-and-white rose bloom prints added a graphic charm to the classic-looking dress. Reese styled this figure-hugging outfit with sultry waves and sexy red lips.

Fall florals are more dramatic and bolder than spring/summer florals. The color patterns and mixtures are made up of deeper and darker hues instead of the bright and cheery colorways of spring. Also, dresses with a more tailored or structured look, in contrast to light and frilly fabrics, are the best ones for the season.
