When you think of Taylor Momsen, what comes to mind? Aside from being known as Jenny Humphrey on the hit series Gossip Girl, the girl is also infamous for her somewhat gothic and exhibitionist way of dressing off-screen.

If you’re not familiar, Google her. As the lead vocalist of ‘Pretty Reckless,’ her fashion style effortlessly captures the essence of grunge rock. Her go-to ensembles are effortlessly chic yet edgy, often comprising a simple slip or tee under a stylish jacket.

She pairs these outfits with bold over-the-knee boots and gartered nylons to complete her signature look, creating a striking contrast. Her makeup choice, typically featuring dramatic, smoky eyes, adds to her distinctive, darkly glamorous aesthetic.

But here’s the thing. Taylor’s taste in fashion is improving (or maybe she’s just growing up) because the blonde cutie was spotted all lady-like and covered up at the Marchesa Fall 2012 Show during the recently held Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

It was somewhat surprising to see Taylor wear an uber-feminine lace dress paired with equally feminine pointy heels, but it was also quite refreshing (and, in fact, quite a relief) to see her that way. She still wore those raccoon eyes, but we’re glad she tried to use blue eye shadow instead of the usual black.

It’s amazing how a single dress can transform a girl into a lady. This is the best look we’ve seen her in since ‘Gossip Girl,’ and we’re actually hoping to see more of it in the future. As for Taylor’s lace dress, that’s a Marchesa.
