Word has it that Selma Blair got fired from the sitcom ‘Anger Management’ because of Charlie Sheen. Do you think it’s true? Or do you think she simply decided to quit because working with Mr. Sheen felt like hell?

Speaking of Selma, the actress was actually spotted out and about on Melrose Avenue the other day. It was hard not to notice her because she had on a really catchy maxi shirtdress. We couldn’t tell if it was printed or tie-dyed, but it came in a bright orange hue and looked really easy and breezy.

Now, here’s the thing. Although the dress was pretty, somehow it didn’t look right on her. Or maybe she just wore it wrong. Check out Selma below, and tell us what you think.

Well, what are your thoughts? Do you think she looks hot in the dress or not? Could she have worn it any better?

The dress comes with quarter sleeves and a high round neckline, so it basically covers one up from head to toe. While that may not be a bad thing, such a silhouette does have a tendency to make whoever is wearing it look shorter, wider, and, well, shapeless — most especially because it also comes with a very distracting print.

Selma isn’t short, but she is bordering on petite (she’s 5 feet 4 inches in height). She also has a “V” body shape (her shoulders are the broadest part of her body), so the sleeves and structured style of the dress didn’t flatter her at all. Perhaps on someone like Miranda Kerr, the effect would be different. Of course, we also think Selma could have worked around the problem by adding an accessory or two — like a belt around the waist. Would you agree?

By the way, we tried our best to ID the dress, but sadly we were unsuccessful, so we searched for the next best thing instead — a more flattering look-alike that will suit almost any body type.

Check out the “Danielle” dress from Club Monaco that you can purchase at Amazon. This beauty features a collared button-front opening that is universally flattering. It also has an optional belt in the same fabric in case you want to cinch it at the waist. And if you feel like pulling an Angelina, simply leave some of the buttons at the hem open to show some leg.

So, what do you think? Is the Danielle dress a better alternative, or do you still want Selma’s long shirtdress?
