Last Saturday, Sandra Bullock attended the 2014 Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, where she received the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her work in Gravity.

We also think she should’ve gotten an award for how impeccably styled she was that night.

Sandy was in an Alex Perry dress in hues of pink and orange — one of our absolute favorite color combinations — which she elegantly accessorized with a gold clutch and nude Brian Atwood “Cassandra” pumps.

We’re going to pretend that the award Sandra Bullock was holding was for how beautiful she looked that night, but kidding aside, her work is truly moving, and you can feel that when you read her acceptance speech below.

She also mentions how she tried googling herself and reading comments about herself before writing her speech. You can figure out how that turned out for her.

So, I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I could get some tidbits of what people really think of me. No human being should ever read the comments sections or ever Google one’s self at any time.

Some things I was very well aware of. ‘Sandra Bullock is over 40’ came up a lot. I know that. ‘Sandra Bullock’s way past 40.’ Yeah, I know that, too ‘There’s absolutely nothing special about her acting. She’s not particularly attractive, I can’t stand her, she’s mediocre. She’s over 40.’ And apparently Julia [Roberts] You and I are in a dispute over George Clooney. We talked about this, right? It’s shared custody and we’re both fine with it.

[There were] lots and lots of comments about who I’ve dated. Some are true and some I’ll never admit to.

I was reminded I made out with Meryl Streep. Off-screen, not necessarily her choice. I kind of took her by surprise.

Some commenters thought I had good hair and good teeth. And I made some young girls and some over 40 girls laugh with some chick flicks. I sparked with Betty White and I’ve flown into space. I’ve had a pretty good life and a pretty good career.

Getting an award and wearing a dress in the Pantone color of the year, Sandra Bullock is starting her 2014 off on the right foot!
