It’s safe to say First Lady Michelle Obama has made her grand finale unforgettable. The lovely FLOTUS, joined by President Barack Obama, welcomed Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi for a State Dinner at the White House. Michelle made jaws drop as she stepped out on the red carpet in a sparkling metallic gown.

When meeting with figures from a foreign country for events such as the state dinner, Michelle usually opts for designers representative of that country. Because Michelle was welcoming Italian leaders, she opted for Italian designer Atelier Versace. The shimmering gown, designed by Donatella Versace, was given to Michelle partly as a tribute for being such a great role model for women. The rose gold dress is made of chainmail — a stylish armor for the incredibly strong and inspirational First Lady.

We think this look will go own in the fashion books as one of the best worn by a First Lady. Michelle has worn some incredible looks during her tenure in the White House, but we think this is her best yet.

First Lady of the United States @MichelleObama is flawless in a custom-made, rose gold #AtelierVersace gown.
