According to Chinese Feng Shui, wearing clothes with a polka-dot print during New Year brings good luck. That explains the popularity of polka-dotted anything at this time of the year.

The round shape of the dots represents the fullness and abundance of wealth, while the black and white color combination is believed to balance yin and yang energy.

Celebrity Spotlight: Kylie Minogue’s Polka-Dot Fashion

It makes us wonder if Kylie Minogue is aware of that belief or if she really is just a fan of this Dolce & Gabbana dress.

The dress is a black piece with white polka dots adorning it. It also has unique bell sleeves that give it more character.

Of course, it was more likely that the fashionable singer fell in love with this dress rather than following Feng Shui beliefs because she wore this to attend a Dolce & Gabbana event. A D&G dress for a D&G event?

While the price tag is out of reach, that didn’t stop us from giving Kylie a gold star for her overall dress styling.

She cinched it at the waist with a gold coin belt, gave it a modern touch with a pair of D&G knee-high boots, and kept the look classy with a Dolce & Gabbana “Miss Sicily” cotton-lace leather handbag.

We think she also wore this shift dress underneath the polka-dotted frock:
