Kate Middleton or Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, has proven time and again that she really is just like us despite her royal status. She’s shown us that she isn’t beyond recycling dresses and even whole outfits. And just recently, she showed us that even she isn’t immune to dreaded wardrobe malfunctions.
Kate had her version of a Marilyn Monroe moment when she bent down to talk to a school girl during an engagement at the charity Place2Be. The wind and pleated skirts are never a good match, and Kate had to learn that the hard way when she flashed a lot more leg than she intended to at awaiting cameras. However, thanks to a quick hand and a quick mind, Kate managed to hold down her wind-caught skirt while still focusing on her chat with the school girl. See the wardrobe malfunction unfold in the pictures below.

Nice save for Kate Middleton, don’t you think?
Kate and her pleated skirt continued to battle with the wind after the chat stop, but that didn’t stop her from smiling, looking good, and fulfilling her role as a Place2Be patron.
Get the combined look of Kate Middleton’s Max Mara jacket and Orla Kiely skirt in one with a spiffy coat dress. Reduce the risk of having your own Marilyn Monroe moment with a drop-waist or heavy box pleats. You could also forego the pleats altogether and just go for a fitted skirt like on the Wallis coat dress among our picks. We also love how the Wallis coat dress has a moto-style zippered front similar to Kate Middleton’s own jacket.
