In addition to sharing the same surname, Jenny and Melissa McCarthy are cousins who share a lot in common. They’re the same age and both grew up in Illinois. Jenny also reportedly helped Melissa get her first role in her sitcom Jenny.
Melissa McCarthy and Jenny McCarthy are cousins
In 1997, Melissa McCarthy had her first television role as Melissa on Jenny, an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1997 to 1998. The episode titled “A Girl’s Gotta Live in the Real World” aired on November 16, 1997.
Jenny discussed her cousin in an interview with People in July 2014: “When she was starting out, I was fortunate enough to be in a position to get her a job on a show I was doing, to learn the ropes and get some experience on a TV set in front of the camera and behind the scenes.”
The former nude model added, “She has accomplished everything she has accomplished through hard work and her extraordinary talent, and I’ve only ever encouraged and supported and wished her the very best.”
In July 2015, she also shared a childhood photo of herself (far right) and Melissa (middle).

Many women half her age can only wish they looked like Jenny McCarthy. Jenny has a smokin’ body that she really takes good care of.
But the best thing about Jenny is that she is so far from being vapid. The actress is also an author and an activist. Talk about being a “total package.”

Just months before turning 41, Jenny hosted a pool party at the Encore Beach Day Club in Las Vegas, Nevada. She blended right in with the young ladies at the pool and looked both comfortable and happy.
Actually, she didn’t just look happy. Jenny also stood out from the crowd in her pretty pool outfit: a blue bikini topped with a tie-dye cover-up and Christian Louboutin heels.
