Renowned fashion designer Michael Kors reached yet another milestone in his life when the FIT Couture Council honored his contribution to the fashion industry around a week ago at the Lincoln Center in New York City. With 32 years of dressing the modern woman tucked under his designer belt, Michael Kors was rightfully given the Award for Artistry of Fashion. One of his recent muses, model Chanel Iman, made sure to do her own honoring of the designer by slipping into a red Michael Kors number for the luncheon. Other high-profile guests in attendance included Martha Stewart, Hilary Swank, Lily Aldridge, Iman, Nina Garcia, and Anna Wintour.
Chanel Iman paired her Michael Kors stretch matte jersey dress with a Taylor clutch from the same designer. She kept her hair pin-straight and parted at the middle, keeping her natural-looking glow within paparazzi sight. She finished the look off with a pair of black strappy heels.

Michael Kors is infamous for being a designer who loves the idea of dressing the modern woman, whom he defines as a good mix of beauty, brains, class, and impeccable style. This stretch jersey dress is the perfect embodiment of his design direction, with its neckline, classy length, and a back that brings a pleasant crisscrossed strap surprise. The shade of red is also perfect for the woman who aggressively pursues her dreams, but the color is not so bright that it represents sexuality too strongly.
