It seems there’s a certain Dolce & Gabbana creation that is turning out to be such a hit among celebrities — the “Lily of the Valley” dress. It’s from the label’s spring 2013 collection, and it comes in an array of silhouettes. Lily of the Valley actually refers to the print rather than the dress, but the label has created so many frocks using this floral motif, hence a more general term to refer to all (Dolce & Gabbana) dresses that feature the print.
We thought we’d make this post extra interesting today by doing a recap of the famous ladies who have worn Lily of the Valley dresses. Check them out below, and see who looks the most stunning.
Daisy Lowe and Elisabeth Moss
Daisy Lowe wore a strapless full-skirted version to the 2013 ELLE Style Awards in London. Elisabeth, on the other hand, wore a frilly ruffled rendition to the Emmy Awards in September of last year.
Helen Flanagan and Katheryn Winnick
Helen Flanagan sported a figure-hugging Lily (of the Valley) while out at an event in Dublin, Ireland last March. Canadian actress Katheryn Winnick, on the other hand, wore a floor-grazing version of the dress at a Film Festival in Rome held in November 2012.
Dame Helen Mirren and Penny Lancaster
Dame Helen Mirren wore a long-sleeved version of the Lily, while Rod Stewart’s wifey, Penny Lancaster, opted for the classic sleeveless shift (just like Helen Flanagan’s dress) when she attended a gala last week.
So, do you like the Dolce & Gabbana Lily of the Valley dress? Among the ones featured above, which style would you wear? And of the six ladies shown hear, who do you think looks the most beautiful in her Dolce & Gabbana floral frock?
Our vote goes to Katheryn Winnick because we think she looks perfect in the dress. Her hair looks gorgeous, her accessories are spot on, and the floor-grazing gown flatters her figure really well. Prints have a tendency to swallow, but not in her case. She made it her own and killed it. Who’s your pick?
If you want your very own Dolce & Gabbana Lily of the Valley dress, you can purchase one online through stores like Nordstrom, SAKS, Neiman Marcus, and Barneys, to name a few. If you live in Europe, get it from Farfetch or Net-a-Porter.
By the way, Dolce & Gabbana has also created separates (trousers, jackets, tops, and skirts) using Lily of the Valley, and those have been quickly plucked by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Nicky Hilton, and Emma Forbes.
