Unlike Ben Affleck as Batman, Halle Berry as Catwoman, and, to some extent, Jennifer Lawrence as The Hunger Games’ Katniss Everdeen, no one objected when Angelina Jolie was cast as Maleficent in Disney’s newest remake of the classic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty.

Why would anyone anyway when Angelina Jolie is practically Maleficent? She has the same razor-sharp features, the same cold, regal air, and even the same penchant for wearing black everywhere and with everything.

Angelina Jolie is already terrifying in this Maleficent poster where it feels like her stare is piercing straight into our souls.

But she managed to send even more shivers down our spines in the following first trailer for Maleficent, which was just released today.

Wait for what she says when Aurora (played by Elle Fanning) asks her to come out of the shadows and tells her not to be scared.

Are you excited to see Angelina Jolie play a villain in a movie? We, for one, can’t wait, so much so that it feels like all we see when we go dress shopping are Maleficent-inspired dresses.

You’d be surprised just how many evil-looking dresses are up for sale out there!

Jay Ahr Chain-Embroidered Long-Sleeved Gown, $8,000

Delicate chains bring a serpentine element to a striking black gown from the Paris-based, Belgium-born designer.

The drop-waist crepe bodice plays a structured counterpoint to the gauzy, silk-georgette skirt, which lands at an uneven, floor-length hem.
